Sam at 31: Three Decades with a Rare Disorder – Jan 25, 2022

Born in 1990, Sam Woodbury is Beth and David’s third child and has lived with them all his life. Home for them is in the forests of northern Maine near where Beth and David grew up and married 47 years ago. David worked in the paper industry, in health care, and in the woods as a Registered Maine Guide, and has published a few books because now, in retirement, he writes excessively. Beth was appointed to the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council when Sam was young, then together they served as special needs foster parents for close to 20 years. When Sam was diagnosed with a KAT6A mutation at the age of 27 they immediately joined with others who were then starting the KAT6A Foundation. David has served as secretary of the Board of Directors since the Foundation was established in 2017.
