What is an Empowered Grant?
The Empowered Grant Program provides funding for the purchase of assistive equipment, technology, and therapy treatments for individuals diagnosed with KAT6A and KAT6B syndromes. These supports help individuals participate more fully in daily life—gaining independence, reaching educational goals, building stronger connections, improving communication, and fostering social and emotional growth.
Examples include iPads, AAC software, gait trainers, standers, adaptive switches, weighted blankets, eyeglasses, feeding tools, therapeutic swings, and a variety of therapies such as speech, occupational, physical, ABA, feeding, vision, hippotherapy, aquatic, music, and art therapy.
Visit the family resources page to download the application, available in various languages, and learn more about the meaningful impact of the Empowered Grant Program in the KAT6 community [here].
